Start from a real question
Every app begins with something a person actually wants to know. If the question is not worth answering, the app does not get built.

Do the unglamorous work
Most of the effort goes into the data behind the answer: reading the source material, checking it, and testing against the real world until the edge cases stop.

Ship something small
The first release does one thing properly rather than five things approximately. Features earn their place afterward.

Keep it running
The world an app describes keeps changing. Keeping an app accurate after launch is part of the product, not an afterthought.
